Safier Universe – Nick, Gabriel, Kira, Elena & Josh Safier

‘Safier Universe’ was unexpectedly born in the early days of the Pandemic and lockdown in Brooklyn, New York. As an actor, Nick was feeling vulnerable and overwhelmed by the uncertainty of COVID — watching his career grind to a halt as auditions and related opportunities were cancelled. Desperately seeking a creative outlet, he stumbled upon TikTok and began making short, humorous videos to pass the time, never imagining they’d reach beyond his immediate circle.

It wasn’t until Nick introduced his brother Gabriel, who has Down Syndrome, that the videos began to go viral. Followers were captivated by the endearing content, the bonds and antics of brotherly love, Gabriel’s infectious personality, and the portal through which they could observe life as an individual with special needs.

Comments poured in from across the U.S. and around the world. People were captivated by the deep love and connection Gabriel and Nick shared, with many expressing how our videos brought them comfort and joy during the isolation of the pandemic. Healthcare workers shared how their videos lifted their spirits after long, difficult days on the frontlines, and gave them a sense of purpose. Their channels across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook began evolving into a network that grew from hundreds to thousands, and then millions – over 12 million strong today.

‘Safier Universe’ is a family affair. Elena (mom) takes care of the administrative side of things, Kira (sister) is the mastermind behind video edits, and Josh (dad) films all the videos.

Together, the Safier Family has created something that went beyond entertainment — a platform for hope, compassion, universal understanding, and an advocate to help create social good all based on the unbreakable bond of family love -- Safier Universe.

The Rosa Family - Jimmy, Jo Ann, Marissa, Alex, Cecelia, Helena and Lisa in remembrance of Andrew
The Rosa Family’s lives were forever changed when 15 year old Andrew was struck by a car while riding his bike near his LI home. Andrew suffered significant injuries and was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. After two years in children’s hospitals, and the outpouring of love and support from The Rosa Family's community, Andrew came home where he lived for the next 14 years. The family became his advocates, caregivers, therapists, and constant companions, dedicating their lives to ensuring Andrew could get the most quality out of his new way of life.
In their journey, they also became advocates for other children and families facing life-changing medical issues. They partnered with local organizations, including the Selden Fire Department, where Andrew and his siblings Marissa and Alex were Junior Firefighters. Early on in Andrew’s journey, they met Linda at St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital and became Linda’s life-long friends. Linda attended their family celebrations and Marissa, the same age as Linda, was Linda’s partner at the annual CHONY Prom. Marissa went on to college and became a RN, now working in Pediatrics at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Three generations of family members rallied around Andrew and did everything possible to support and care for him. They have been supporters of the Fairy Godmother Foundation since the beginning.
When Andrew passed away in 2024, their incredible family continued to support and advocate for others, especially for those with complex medical issues, even creating legacy gifts in Andrew’s memory for the Fairy Godmother Foundation of New York. Their teamwork, love, advocacy, and support have helped numerous other families. The Foundation is thrilled to honor the Rosa family: Jimmy, Jo Ann, Marissa, Alex, Grandma Cecelia, Grandma Helena and Aunt Lisa in remembrance of Andrew.
